Hey [FNAME:filter:defaultvalue(you)]!

The Apple Weather app lies.

I was told it was ‘up to the minute’ accurate, so persuaded my fam to go for a walk. We got 10 mins in and a tropical rainstorm hit Somerset.

We all got wet.

I deleted the app.

Ok… let’s do this…

I personalise my web copy from my email campaigns.

Want proof: click here to see this in action

Here’s how that works…

In dojomailer, the merge tag for first names is [ FNAME ] (without the gaps), in Mailchimp this is *|FNAME|*

I use a fancy-ass wordpress plugin called URL Params to pull URL parameters into my web copy

Then I use shortcodes in my web copy like ‘‘, which embeds the parameter value into my website

Bingo… you auto-convert links like https://theemailblueprint.com/?first_name=[ FNAME ] to https://theemailblueprint.com/?first_name=[FNAME], and in turn, can personalise your copy

Here’s an explainer video…
